Abstract

With the increase of the aged persons, dementia became one of the big social problems, Among the dementia, Alzheimers' disease(AD) is the comonest one. Recently olfactory deficit was known as the early symptom of the AD. Therefore the
relationship between the Alzheimers' disease and the olfactory system was remained to be clarified. So the animal model of AD was made by destruction of the nucleus basalis magnocellularis of the rat using stereotaxic instruments and
olactory
bulbus were obtained and fixed. The author observed the changes of the trophic factors, neurotransmitters, and the neurofilaments in the olfactory bulb of the experimental animals with immunoshitochemical method.
The distribution of nerve growth factors was changed and neurofilaments were decrese iin the olfactory bulb of the experimental animals.
